Charge point operator\u00a0(CPO)\u00a0Believ<\/a>\u00a0has\u00a0commenced\u00a0its rollout of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across Redcar and Cleveland\u00a0to help drivers in the area transition to EVs.\u00a0This infrastructure\u00a0will strengthen Redcar and Cleveland\u2019s EV network, promote sustainable travel, and offer convenient charging for residents without driveways or home-charging options, as well as for visitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charge points will be located across a variety of council-owned car parks in the community and will include a mixture of standard plus* (7-22kW) and rapid (60kW) chargers.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network will cater to residents and visitors requiring long-stay or overnight charging, and will include rapid chargers designed for quick top-ups and shorter driver dwell times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area is receiving funding for the project from the On-Street Residential ChargePoint Scheme (ORCS), which Believ will support in the planning, installation, operation and ongoing maintenance of charge points<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabinet Member for Climate and Culture, Cllr Carrie Richardson says she is excited to see the project come to fruition: \u201cThe council has been eager to make progress in developing the borough\u2019s EV infrastructure to support residents in making the switch to electric vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been great to work with Believ, with their depth of experience and understanding of charging technology and strategic planning.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guy Bartlett, Believ CEO, shared his enthusiasm for the project: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be supporting Redcar and Cleveland to advance their charging infrastructure to help boost sustainable transport in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cConvenient and accessible charge points are essential to supporting drivers to make the switch to electric, particularly for those who aren\u2019t able to charge their vehicles privately. This rollout will be a significant benefit for current and future EV drivers in the area.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
