A SWARCO Trailer VMS<\/p><\/div>\n

SWARCO\u00a0and SRL Traffic Systems have agreed a\u00a0significant\u00a0new collaboration in the Variable Message Sign (VMS) industry.<\/p>\n

SRL have purchased 100 mobile VMS from SWARCO in a deal valued in excess of \u00a32.25 million, representing a significant development for the UK market.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0solar-powered\u00a0signs are\u00a0equipped with\u00a0energy efficient LEDs\u00a0capable of\u00a0displaying\u00a0full colour text and images\u00a0with no restrictions. SRL\u00a0will be\u00a0managing the signs via SWARCO\u2019s intelligent Zephyr solution that enables messages to be set from anywhere\u00a0and at any time, remotely.<\/p>\n

Scheduled messages can be programmed or emergency messages displayed with ease. Zephyr\u00a0also enables each of the mobile units to be located and tracked\u00a0via GPS, as well as monitoring power consumption and supply\u00a0levels\u00a0and other essential operating data.\u00a0 The solution also allows information from external data sources, such as journey time through roadworks and flood warnings, to be displayed.<\/p>\n

The VMS are assembled at SWARCO Traffic\u2019s production facility in Richmond, North Yorkshire and are delivered to SRL\u2019s two dedicated VMS hub depots from where they are distributed to one of their 24 hire division depots.<\/p>\n

SRL Traffic Systems\u00a0is\u00a0the UK\u2019s leading manufacturer of portable and temporary traffic equipment to the traffic management industry, it owns and operates Europe\u2019s largest traffic light hire fleet, and this initial investment by SRL is expected to be followed by additional investment in the near future.<\/p>\n
