<\/a>\"\"<\/a>SWARCO Smart Charging has been hailed as the Charging\u00a0&\u00a0Re-fuelling Infrastructure Provider of the Year at\u00a0the\u00a0prestigious GreenFleet Awards.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0ceremony, which was\u00a0held on 1 December 2021 at the British Motor Museum in Warwick, celebrates\u00a0environmental excellence in the fleet and transport sector, recognising innovation and progress from fleets themselves, as well as those \u2013 like SWARCO Smart Charging \u2013 who supply them.<\/p>\n

This industry recognition\u00a0for SWARCO Smart Charging, which is one of the UK\u2019s leading providers of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart charging solutions,\u00a0follows similar success in 2018 when SWARCO was also named\u00a0Charging\u00a0&\u00a0Re-fuelling Infrastructure Provider of the Year.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0category\u00a0recognises the efforts of vehicle charging and refuelling infrastructure providers and the progress made in rolling out low carbon infrastructure across the UK.\u00a0SWARCO Smart Charging\u2019s win is attributed to its ongoing commitment to supporting the expansion of\u00a0electric vehicle (EV) charging networks\u00a0that directly benefit fleet drivers.<\/p>\n

So we are delighted to have won this award for our work this year\u00a0and\u00a0very much look forward to 2022 with even more successful projects on the horizon.\u201d<\/p>\n

SWARCO\u2019s\u00a0successful projects\u00a0in 2021\u00a0have included\u00a0the completion of project\u00a0PACE\u00a0\u2013 a joint Lanarkshire and Scottish Power Energy Network\u2019s (SPEN) project\u00a0which adopted\u00a0a new, innovative funding mechanism to rapidly deliver charging hubs in urban and rural communities\u00a0and\u00a0triple\u00a0the\u00a0charger availability in\u00a0North and South Lanarkshire. Each hub\u00a0is\u00a0strategically placed to provide access for all, including commuters,\u00a0fleet operators\u00a0and\u00a0residents.<\/p>\n

SWARCO continues to support the E-Bus sector,\u00a0with deployment of a\u00a0cost-effective solution for charging and managing\u00a032 fully electric double-decker E-Buses\u00a0operating\u00a0on Manchester City centre routes.\u00a0The SWARCO solution supports the\u00a0E-Bus fleet\u00a0to carry out\u00a0two key high frequency services connecting Manchester city centre, Manchester Airport, five hospitals and two universities\u00a0\u2013\u00a0saving 920,000 litres of diesel a year and reducing annual CO2\u00a0emissions by 2,400 tonnes.<\/p>\n

Having been appointed technology provider for the rapidly expanding\u00a0Motor Fuel Group\u00a0network,\u00a0over the course of 2021,\u00a0SWARCO\u00a0is\u00a0deploying\u00a0over 200\u00a0150kW\u00a0ultra-rapid\u00a0chargers.\u00a0SWARCO is\u00a0also\u00a0working with\u00a0Transport for Wales and Welsh Councils\u00a0to install charging infrastructure\u00a0on multiple projects\u00a0to help develop the\u00a0strategic road network\u00a0for Transport for Wales, a rapid charger hub\u00a0for Carmarthenshire, and\u00a0rapid chargers for the Cardiff City Region supporting EV Taxis. Similarly,\u00a0SWARCO Smart Charging and\u00a0Transport North East\u00a0have gone live this year with a\u00a0network\u00a0targeted at the taxi and private hire market, taking into account\u00a0extensive research into vehicle dwell times and the most popular pick-up locations. Other significant projects have included SWARCO Smart Charging solutions in\u00a0Cambridge\u00a0and\u00a0Kent.<\/p>\n

2021 has also been the year that\u00a0SWARCO successfully\u00a0completed\u00a0what is globally\u00a0the\u00a0largest ever EV charging network migration, taking over management of the\u00a0ChargePlace\u00a0Scotland\u00a0network\u00a0in July. The extensive network\u00a0includes 2,650 charging stations, 350 hosts and\u00a0eight\u00a0technology suppliers\u00a0and\u00a0the new dedicated\u00a0ChargePlace\u00a0Scotland team,\u00a0which has been set up in Dundee,\u00a0continues to make\u00a0significant improvement in\u00a0performance\u00a0of the network and the\u00a0driver satisfaction rating.<\/p>\n
