{"id":8573,"date":"2024-07-25T15:45:36","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T14:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gpsj.co.uk\/?p=8573"},"modified":"2024-07-25T15:46:54","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T14:46:54","slug":"procurement-experts-fusion21-advise-landlords-to-act-now-to-fully-utilise-shdf-funding-wave-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gpsj.co.uk\/?p=8573","title":{"rendered":"Procurement experts Fusion21 advise landlords to \u2018act now\u2019 to fully utilise SHDF funding Wave 3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Procurement experts Fusion21 today advised landlords \u201cto act now\u201d so they benefit from a fresh wave of government funding which will help to ensure their homes are part of a \u00a31.2 billion green investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, the government published details of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/social-housing-decarbonisation-fund-wave-3\">Wave 3<\/a> of The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) designed to reduce carbon emissions, tackle fuel poverty, and make 1.2 million social homes more energy efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wave 3 funding is expected to make \u00a31.2 billion available from April 2025 until March 2028, improving the energy performance of millions of homes and ensuring they have an upgraded Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of band C or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And with SHDF Wave 3 applications expected to open within months \u2013 possibly as early as September &#8211; today Fusion21 has released a seven-step toolkit and urged landlords to ensure they take a set of vital steps <strong>NOW<\/strong> to make sure they make the most of this funding opportunity to transform homes in their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valued at \u00a3750 million over four years, Fusion21\u2019s national <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fusion21.co.uk\/frameworks-decarbonisation\">Decarbonisation Framework<\/a> includes a turnkey model with access to a network of qualified suppliers. It has already procured \u00a3250 million of decarbonisation retrofit projects including SHDF-funded schemes on behalf of housing associations, and local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wave 3 toolkit 7-step checklist:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understand your targets, be clear about what you are setting out to achieve through SHDF, and make sure you have a backup list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your retrofit delivery partner early, think about partnerships and turn-key approach \u2013 enlist experts to manage this process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage comprehensively with tenants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrate SHDF with planned capital works programmes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start data analysis as early as possible &#8211; don\u2019t rely on historic, out-of-date, or inaccurate property data. Seeking expert help and taking the steps outlined today will really help landlords maximise the opportunities SHDF presents and ensure projects are delivered within funding timescales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIncorporating energy efficiency measures within social housing can streamline the decarbonisation process.
