Drivers will be able to benefit from an overnight off-peak tariff, and a dedicated resident\u2019s tariff which features discounted charging at all times.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public car parks will also see a number of rapid and ultra-rapid charge point installations, allowing for quicker charging.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Councillor Philip Fairclough-Mutton, Suffolk County Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Environment, Communities and Equality said:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c25% of Suffolk households don\u2019t have a driveway and park on their street. This is a significant barrier for people who would like an EV, as they have no convenient way to charge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are providing a solution by installing charge points on their street, or very nearby. Our ambition is to provide them with a public charge point within a 5-10 minute walk or wheel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are around 1.5 million EVs on the country\u2019s roads and we need thousands of new public charge points in Suffolk, and we need them quickly \u2013 around 5,400 by 2030, and 12,000 by 2040. Working with <em>Believ<\/em>, our new installations will bring a significant reduction to those numbers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe benefits of EV ownership go beyond helping residents and businesses to reduce their carbon emissions and their impact on climate change. It means together we can contribute to <a href=\"https:\/\/tracking.vuelio.co.uk\/tracking\/click?d=6MV6e4UtQXhrEQoRk-8PsY6zZ38Dj6wN_bnxlX5l7fqBhulXa3N8wePjQoWSV_vgPAIXVDKRfhTUkcv63_giDntjrmxNEdr4S9eUhIXyOqhOrbNP9PcSi6clLsEgPSDbrJBodypveWaEyBKnu7K5M5VkBT52ylzjpLa8IHUVyxSV_8U1hC-n-wevZiQLfo2Uqw2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Suffolk\u2019s Climate Emergency Plan<\/a>, improving Suffolk\u2019s air quality and enabling us to live healthier lives.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a competitive procurement exercise,<em> Believ<\/em> will install, operate and maintain the charge points, which deliver 100% renewable energy.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Believ is able to install all speeds of charge points to accommodate the full breadth of resident and visitor charging needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Believ will install a minimum of 2,100 on-street charge points and over 400 car park charge points by the end of 2026, increasing to a total of approximately 6,000 throughout the project as EV demand increases. Believ will also support with the installation of fast and rapid charging infrastructure at key locations, building on the county council\u2019s successful \u2018Plug In Suffolk\u2019 project which launched in 2018.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guy Bartlett, Believ CEO, said:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have been awarded the opportunity to rollout such a significant number of charge points across Suffolk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt will make a real difference to local EV drivers and give others the confidence to go electric, helping to support our mission to deliver cleaner air for all.
