Believ picks up nine nominations atTransport + Energy and EVIES awards

Electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator (CPO) Believ has been shortlisted across nine categories at the Transport + Energy Awards and the Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards (EVIES), recognising its work to expand accessible public charging and support the UK’s transition to cleaner transport.

    Accessible charging at scale

Believ is shortlisted for Best On-Street EV Charging Network at the Transport + Energy Awards and Chargepoint Network of the Year at the EVIES.

The nominations recognise Believ’s growth from just 20 charge points in 2021 to more than 2700 nationwide, underpinned by a commitment to delivering the right charge point in the right location for both public and private sector partners. This growth is supported by Believ’s data-led approach to site selection, breadth of charging solutions and long-term investment in its network, including a £300 million funding facility that will support the deployment of at least 30,000 public charge points. Alongside its commercial growth, Believ continues to invest in the experienced teams, technology and social value initiatives needed to deliver accessible charging infrastructure for the long term.

    Partnerships that unlock infrastructure

A project with National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) has earned Believ two further nominations: at the Transport + Energy Awards, for the Energy Network Innovation Project of the Year, and at the EVIES, it is shortlisted for EV Infrastructure Problem-Solver of the Year.

    The Believ team

The joint NGED nominations recognise the Connection Surgery, a programme designed to identify network constraints earlier and coordinate charging connections across thousands of sites and more than 30 local authorities. Early adoption indicates the process can reduce wasted connection applications by more than 80% compared with business as usual.

Believ’s Suffolk County Council rollout has earned a nomination for Best Collaborative Partnership: Transport & Energy Sectors with Suffolk County Council. The programme is set to install up to 6,000 public charge points through the UK’s first signed Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) main-funding contract, combining £5.3 million in public funding with more than £16 million from Believ.

    Leadership and people

Believ’s CEO Guy Bartlett is up for the EVIES Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than two decades of experience in the energy sector, he has been recognised for creating one of the most compelling growth stories in the EV charging sector. In particular, it acknowledges his leadership in the successful completion of the company’s milestone £300 million funding, one of the largest ever secured by a UK CPO.

Marc Mültin is shortlisted for the Transport + Energy Impact Award for his work on EV charging standards, open-source technology and industry education. Neil Fotheringham and Ramya Nanthakumar are shortlisted for Rising Star awards, recognising Neil’s leadership of major public-sector bids and Ramya’s contribution to Hampshire County Council’s EV charging concession.

    Building confidence in EVs

Believ’s EV Marketing / Branding Campaign of the Year shortlist recognises its ‘Charging Ahead Together’ campaign, which combined sports partnerships, community engagement and EV education to build confidence in electric mobility.

Guy Bartlett, Believ CEO says that being shortlisted across nine categories is a strong reflection of the breadth of Believ’s people and partnerships.

“From building accessible, reliable charging infrastructure to collaborating on the complex challenges of network delivery, these nominations recognise the teams working every day to make cleaner transport more achievable for communities across the UK.”
